angie545 Dove Heat Defense Therapy: Heat Activated Protect & Shine Mist Feb 22, 2010 4:50 PM I have really, really curly hair and instead of choosing to deal with it on a daily basis, I straighten my hair a lot. I've been straightening my hair about every two or three days for about four years now and it definitely shows! I have a lot of dead and split ends, which I'm not very proud of. I finally got a heat defense spray to protect my hair from the constant flat-ironing and the one I chose was from Dove's Heat Defense Therapy line. You spray the product all over your hair, while it's still damp and then comence with the blow drying/ flat ironing/curling torture we women choose to impose on our poor strands of hair. Personally, I haven't seen much results from this product. I still see many split ends pop up all the time even though I've been using the heat spray for about two months now. I bought this for only  $5 at Walgreens , so it wasn't a major investment. I do have very thick hair, so maybe I need a more expensive heat spray that's better suited for my hair type. To finish off, I would recommend this spray to those who flat iron/blow dry their hair sometimes (but not on a daily basis!) and those who are looking for a cheap product that won't break the bank. Also I'm sure this spray would work a lot better for those with thin/medium hair.
angie545 Epiduo Gel (week 1) Feb 18, 2010 6:57 PM      I've had a problem with acne for about a year now, so I finally dragged my butt to the dermatologist for some prescription medication. Surprisingly, my check up lasted only about ten minutes (a lot shorter than I expected). She gave me a prescription for Epiduo Gel. I've seen some Epiduo commercials and ads in magazines, so I was very eager to try it. The only downside, is that she said it will take a month before I start to see results. But, I'm still very excited to try it out and hopefully it works as well as its suppose to (fingers crossed!). Today is the third day I've used it and so far I haven't had any problems with overdrying on my skin, itching, or burning. I'll keep you posted about once a week to let you know how this gel works out for me!   Some things about Epiduo Gel: It can dry up your skin a lot, so make sure to use moisturizer. It contains benzoyl peroxide, which is a bleaching agent so when using on your chest or back, wear an old t-shirt. Don't use any scrubs or harsh cleansers while using Epiduo. Just wash your face with a mild cleanser or soap once in the morning and once at night before applying the Epiduo gel. And a reminder: this is a prescription, so you have to see a dermatologist.
angie545 Maybeline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation Feb 12, 2010 8:07 AM I was shopping at Rite Aid one day and they had this product on sale so I decided to give it a try. I do like this powder foundation a lot, but there are a couple cons.  The sifter is kinda big I guess, so if you carry this product around in your make up bag, the powder comes out a lot. When you open the foundation it becomes a little hard to use because theres so much powder. Also the brush it comes with is (as you can tell) is very small. It's a little hard to hold and control, but it is pretty soft. On a good note, this foundation provides medium coverage and doesn't clog your pores. I would recommend it for those with sensitive skin because it is made with micro-minerals. Also I would recommend purchasing the Finishing Veil Translucent Powder along with the powder foundation. The Finishing Veil does a good job of setting your makeup in and completing your look. It's pretty inexpensive for a powder foundation. You can purchase it at any drugstore for about $10-12 .   I would give this product about a 6.5 out of 10.
angie545 Best Nude Makeup Feb 11, 2010 5:56 PM There's no doubt about it, NUDE is in this year!  I personally am a huge fan of neutral and earthy tones, so I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite cosmetics with the natural/nude feel to them. Enjoy.
angie545 Beauty Secrets!! Feb 10, 2010 3:12 PM        I've been experimenting with make up and reading blogs for years and years. Over time I've learning quite a handful of beauty tricks that really do work and thought I'd share them with you. Use concealer on your eyelids before putting on eyeshadow to make it last all day. Take a toothbrush (a new one!) and use it along with some petroleum jelly/vaseline to rub off any dryness on your lips. Put lotion all over feet right after taking a shower and then put socks on. Your feet will be soo soft in the morning! If you didn't have time to shower and your hair's looking a little greasy, take a powder brush, put a little bit of translucent powder on it, and run it along your hair. It soaks up the oil really well. Vaseline works amazingly well on dry patches of skin! Just rub it wherever needed.   Well thats all for now, but theres plenty more I'll share in another post. Stay tuned :)
